During the following decade in China, each year there is an increase of one million professional tourism workers who will undertake tourism. However, the amount of the professional tourism workers is not adequate in that the Chinese tourism vocational school can only provide 100,000 graduates every year.

According to the predication from the WTO ( World Tourism Organization), China will become the largest tourism destination nation and the fourth largest “output guests resources” nation in the world by 2010. There have been more than twenty provinces in China which promote the developing policy of “tourism strength province, tourism build up province” taking tourism as the prior developing profession.

Currently, there are only three independent tourism colleges in China (China Tourism College, Guilin Tourism College, Guilin Tourism vocational school, Shanghai tourism vocational school). Although some other colleges set up the tourism major and provide the tourism market with about 10,000 graduates, the lack of the tourism talents have become obvious as the rapid development of tourism.

Experts point that tourism is an attractive golden profession. In the next decade, those who undertake tourism field as the position of manager of hotel, tour guide will be admired by many other employees. Meanwhile, tourism will become backbone of economy of many areas. The promising prediction of employment and salary will attract many craving students to take tourism as their career and choose tourism college to fulfill their study.
